'sometimes what we remember is more real than what we see' - memoirs of a geisha
i couldnt help but wonder, as i read the last few pages of the book, if that was really true. have you ever visited a place where you once used to go when you were young and noticed how everything has changed? how you would think back and recall the times you spent in that place, where it was what it was?
our eyes might bring upon us images of cars busy honking, but in our minds we see even more clearly the clanking of the chains as the bicycles cut into soft sand. something like that.
its beautiful, in a nostalgic, sad way.
and how, your loved ones may some day depart, leaving you with nothing but the memories of the past. the little things, the way they moved, the way they spoke. the moments that you shared with them. would you look upon these memories and smile? or would tears roll down your face?
have you ever thought about how you would react when all these do happen? i try not to. for that'll only make me wish im gone first.
