netty problems =(

internet's been fucked up since last tuesday. ive been unable to get online. despite having :

1) checked my modem ( and substituted another WORKING modem of my colleague's)
2) reinstalled the drivers
3) checked the phone line with a (WORKING) phone
4) checked the usb port
5) checked phone line status with singtel

All the above are ok, as far as i know.

there's this dsl filter attached to the home phone, (nb: internet and home phone uses same number) tried taking it off and putting it back on again. doesnt work either.

colleague at work said same thing happened to her awhile back. turned out (after MANY phonecalls to singnet) that it was the HUB WIRING at the internet hub that connects my modem to their hub that was screwed up. could this be it in this circumstance?

so everytime i dial they tell me that there's NO DIAL TONE and that connection cannot be established with the dsl line.

can all techie pple who read this offer some suggestions? im currently paying for unlimited access to a net connection that i cant use at all!!! @@
