This is a story about a boy...

once, there was a boy.
a very strange little boy.
his ears looked like halfbaked waffles, they had no holes.
he bathed them with maple syrup, he did,
swirling it with a honeystick,
smearing it with his thumb.

the boy had many friends,
many little friends he had
they mostly had wings
along with multiple legs.

one day his friends got hungry,
for the winter it had come

and at the end of the day
the boy's ears, they were gone.
