paris

finally! having paid a hefty 12 euros for my precious 2 hours of internet connection, it seemed only fitting that i utilize every minute of it. no matter how tired i am! arggh!

paris was great fun - its spiderweb of a metro system allowed me to swing from sightseeing spot to sightseeing spot like a deranged tarzan. only 7 days into the trip and i can walk around the metro lines like a true parisien! haha. it only goes to show how user-friendly the system is, and not my sense of direction.

i must say that parisiens are a friendly lot, despite the bad reputation they have abroad! they were never the steely, cold human beings we often read about, but instead warm and helpful, and sometimes cheeky. begin every encounter with "bon jour / bon soir" and end with a "merci, au revoir" and you are guaranteed a smile back :)
